| Lacombe is a great place to live and raise a family. |
The
City of Lacombe has been ranked as the 26th
best place to live in Canada for 2012 by
MoneySense, the country’s leading
personal finance magazine and personal finance website.
“We
are extremely proud of our community, and this ranking just confirms what we
already know,” said Mayor Stephen Christie. “Lacombe is a great place to live
and raise a family.”
Lacombe also ranked ninth in
discretionary income, 14th in top places to find a job and 30th
for top places to raise children.
“This
recognition attests to the quality of life that exists in Lacombe for residents
and businesses alike,” said Chief Administrative Officer Norma MacQuarrie.
“However, we recognize that there is always room for improvement, and we are
working diligently towards a becoming the most beautiful city in Alberta with a
passion for long term sustainability.”
The
magazine uses information on Census Metropolitan Areas and Census Agglomeration
areas as defined by Statistic Canada, weighing and ranking 190 cities and towns
nationwide by 22 separate categories.
