| Lacombe's Historic Downtown |
The City needs your help! The City of Lacombe is undertaking a review to replace the Heart of
Town Redevelopment Plan. The new
Downtown Area Redevelopment and Urban Design Plan will help shape the future of
Lacombe’s Downtown and surrounding areas.
The new plan will affect the area of the City bounded by:
·
58th Street to the West to
·
56 Avenue to the North, to
·
46 Street to the East and to
·
the City’s corporate boundary to the South.
Information on this project including the boundary area can be found on
the City’s website at www.lacombe.ca.
Critical to the success of this project is the involvement of the
people of Lacombe. We are looking for
seven community members (four residents and or property owners and three
business operators or commercial property owners) from the affected area to
serve on an Advisory Committee that will help identify the issues and
opportunities for this far-reaching plan.
If you own property, operate a commercial establishment, or live in the
downtown area, and are interested in helping to shape the future of Lacombe’s Downtown,
please submit an application to serve on the committee.
The application deadline is Tuesday, January 3, 2012. City Council will appoint the successful
applicants to the Advisory Committee during the January 9th Regular Council
Meeting.
For more information and for applications, please contact Jennifer
Kirchner with Planning & Development at (403) 782-6666 or jkirchner@lacombe.ca.
