– Review Federal/City Issues
Council met with MP Blaine Calkins to discuss current initiatives and to
update him on matters related to:

Highway 2A/CP Rail – the City is working with CP
Rail on to complete rail crossing components of this project
·
Airport funding
·
Biorefinex
Garbage
Solid Waste
Commercial Collection
Council received as information a
presentation from Administration regarding three different options for the
collection of solid waste for large bin customers and construction material in
Lacombe.
The presentation highlighted the differences
between the utility based model currently used for all solid waste in the
community, a regulated alternative that removes the city from administration of
solid waste for larger bins and construction waste, and a third alternative
that removes the City from construction waste collection only.
Administration will be presenting Council
with additional financial information regarding the three options.

Council received budget

Budget presentations were reviewed and discussed by Council. The 2012 Financial Plan and Budget as a whole will be presented to Council for adoption in December 2011.
