2011 Canada Day Events in Lacombe


Here is a list of events in the City of Lacombe as part of the 2011 Canada Day celebrations.

Friday, July 1st:·

· Free Pancake Breakfast at English Estates Co-op – 8am till noon.

· Autocross – Alberta 100 ft Association - in parking lot at Lacombe Sports & Leisure Complex, as part of the shoot out/show and shine.

· Farmer’s Market

· Show n’ Shine

· Motorcycle Stunt Show by the 2nd Gear Club – 12pm

· Concessions

· Beer Gardens


· Custom Car Displays

· STARS – Trail Ride Fundraiser – call Nathan at 403-350-9215 for more info

· Midway and Petting Zoo – noon

· Kids Zone – sponsored by Blah Blah Juniors

· Water Fight – after 7pm

· Free Concert “Street Dance on the Track”

· Fireworks at 11 p.m.


Saturday, July 2nd
@ Michener Park 11 am – 12pm

· 200ft Shootout – mini drag racing - starts at 11:15 a.m.

· Beer Gardens - open at noon

· Motorcycle Stunts - throughout the day

· Street Dance - starts at 8 p.m.


Sunday, July 3rd
@ Michener Park 11 am – 6pm


 200ft Shootout – mini drag racing - starts at 11:15 a.m.

· Beer Gardens - open at noon

· Motorcycle Stunts - throughout the day

Would have been nice if the Sunday events had started on time - shootout started over an hour and a half late and once they were finally ready to go, we had to wait for the timing system to get tweaked - because the 3 guys driving around on quads and golf carts for that hour and a half were apparently otherwise busy. Too bad too because we had to leave before the end when the storm started rolling in. Very disappointed by the poor organization/execution of the event....

  7. Racing started 1/2hr late and run pretty steady till the rain storm. They could of packed up and left but waited till it stopped and restarted with drivers that remained and then gave every driver that remained a throphy sounds pretty good to me.
